How it works
Party Sportsbook — fake-money betting for game night with live odds.
Overview
Join a party with a code, get a starting balance, and bet on markets (sports winners, props, totals, and more). Odds update in real time. Nobody risks real money — it's play cash for bragging rights on the leaderboard.
Party flow
- Join on the home page with the party code and your name.
- Browse markets grouped by game and category.
- Place bets while markets are open and betting isn't paused.
- When the game ends, open bets settle and final standings go on the board.
- Winners are ranked by equity on the leaderboard.
Placing bets
- Each market has two sides (Yes / No) with live odds shown in American lines and cents (implied probability).
- Your stake is deducted from cash balance immediately. Stake must be within the party's max bet and your available cash.
- Entry price is the ask when you bet — you buy shares at that price.
- If a market is disabled, you can't place new bets on it; existing open bets stay until settlement.
Cash out
While a bet is open and the market is still live, you can cash out before the game ends. Your position is marked to the current bid(what you could sell for now). The party may charge a cash-out vig — a percentage haircut on that value. Example: at 5% vig, a $50 mark pays about $47.50.
You cannot cash out after the game ends or once a market has officially settled.
Leaderboard & equity
Rankings use equity = cash on hand plus the current value of all open bets (marked to market). Open bets count toward your score even before you cash out or the game ends.
Ending the game
When the game ends, a countdown runs. After it expires, all open bets are settled:
- If the market has an official result, you get the final outcome (100¢ or 0¢ per share).
- Otherwise, open bets settle at the mid price between bid and ask at settlement time.
Cash from settlement is added to your balance. The leaderboard locks in final equity.
Buy-back (optional)
Some parties allow players who bust (zero cash and no open bet value) to request a buy-back for 25% of the starting stack. Each request must be approved before chips are added back.
House rules (per party)
Each party can set its own limits:
- Starting balance — play money each player starts with.
- Max bet — cap per wager.
- Cash-out vig — fee on early cash-outs.
- Buy-back — on or off.
- End-game countdown — seconds before auto-settlement.
Important
- Not real gambling. No real money is deposited or paid out. This is for fun only.
- Odds can lag or pause briefly if live prices are slow or unavailable.
- Save your player link or use the same device — session is stored locally so you can return to your account.
